Alyssa-Final Review

I know you said you are not ready, but we may not have time to give you advice and have you change it tomorrow night, so I thought we should start now.

I don't know how much time you will have tonight, but here it goes:

I think you said you are changing the age to Third Grade, but I think this might be beyond some of them in your current format. I found something in Dreamweaver called "spry tabbed...something or other" which lets you keep all of your items on one webpage, but you can chunk them up and tab through them.

Under the "What do we need to learn" is it possible to scan pictures of someone doing this? Or take pictures with your phone of a student doing this and put the instructions under the pictures? If you like, I can take some quick pictures of my daughters and e-mail them to you (so you don't have to worry about photo releases.)

For the searching, the only site I found that will give the students all of the muscles you asked for in a readable manner is http://dictionary.kids.net.au/ - If you find a better site, you might want to start the students there.
The exercise sites for muscles all seem to be written at an adult level. With adult "content" :(

Also - 6/7th graders have trouble with the word "citation" - For 3rd graders, you may want to define it and tell the students exactly what you are looking for (at that age, I'm usually satisfied with the URL or the name of the website.)

Don't forget to cite your pictures and complete your links.

Hey Cate,

Thank you so much for suggestions. I'm so mad that my Vegas trip was right in the middle of this project! Grrrrr!!

I've come to the conclusion that it would probably be best to make this a 5th grade project, as those students are getting more into researching things at my school. That way the information would be a little easier for them to navigate and work through.

With the pictures, I think I'll try to find some online or try to make my instructions easier to follow (to try and make it somewhat easier for me to complete by tonight).

Thanks, again!

Alyssa,

I'll make any changes you need to the group page in the early evening tonight...in plenty of time for you to correct any mistakes I (won't) make.
