Here's my lesson "outline" if you will. I would like to do Purpose #1 (practice information-seeking skills) if that is okay with everyone...so here it goes! PLEASE let me know what you think...
Title of Proposed Lesson: Muscles in Motion
Teleresearch Purpose: Practice Information-Seeking Skills (Purpose #1)
Grade Level: 2nd Grade
Content Area: Health Education
Summary: This lesson is a health education lesson designed to teach second grade students about the muscles in their body. The students will learn why muscles are essential to everyday function and activities. The students will learn these concepts by guided discussions, internet research activities, and a culminating project about a muscle group to which each student will be assigned. At the end of the unit, the groups will present their final project to the rest of the class.
Value (i.e. why it's "worth it"): This lesson is "worth it" because children need to know the inner-workings of their bodies. This lesson also allows younger students the opportunity to search for information about muscles of the body using different websites to find results.
Objective: TSWBAT demonstrate competency in conducting internet research on a specific muscle of their choice.
Thanks!

Cate,
I have reviewed the assignment several times and cannot find any requirement of submitting 3 lesson options, especially in the rubric, which is typically the sole tool for assessment of the project. Please let me know where this information is locate so I can review it.
Thanks so much...
Jim
Jim,
If you look on the class announcements page on WebTycho it states under "Week Four" you scroll down to "Upcoming Tasks" and it says, "Suggest three ideas to your study group members immediately. As soon as possible, make sure that each person has selected a different structure for his/her individual pages."
Then in WebTycho, you look under the "Study Group" then "Conferences," go to "Week 4: Selecting An Idea" it clearly states that we needed to post three lesson ideas on a different teleresearch purposes.
Hope this helps clarify things for you,
Beth
A this point,
I'm cramming for time to even get my lesson plan up on dreamweaver so that Jim will have the link to my page (I'll be out of town this week). So, I don't know if I will be able to post 2 more lesson ideas. I know that I will most likely get some points taken off, but this has been a really crazy week for me, and I don't think I will be able to post 2 more.
Please let me know what your thoughts are on my "Muscles in Motion" lesson so that I can make changes if I need to.
Alyssa - you can do a bare bones plan for the moment - you have all next week to fix it. Don't kill yourself on the wrong things.
Jim:
WEEK THREE SUMMARY:
Post three lesson plan ideas to your study group early in the week. After everyone has posted possiblilities, each person should select one to develop for the group page. (Your study group facilitator should make sure you have each selected a different teleresearch purpose).
Design your individual lesson (using Dreamweaver) and upload it to your Polaris website. Then post the URL along with a brief (2-3 sentence summary of your lesson and an indication of the teleresearch purpose) to your Study Group. Deadline for each of you to post your individual pages: Saturday, Oct. 6).
And I forgot the summary - sorry about that.
So "lesson plan ideas" is sufficient, as opposed to complete lesson plans.I had several possible ideas but only developed one. As soon as I get home, I'll post 2 alternate ideas.
Cate,
If I missed that, and clearly I did, I apologize. I currently cannot access WebTycho to see how I overlooked this step, but I will once they fix the problem (it on the UMUC side..not me). I looked very carefully at this weeks tasks and proceeded from there. I also looked at the Rubric and used that as my guide. If that messed us up any, I again apologize.
I have submitted all my ideas but would like to use the one on Photography since it suits my class best.
